So some updates on some new fresh Christian music for all of you seeking:
June21-05

As Cities Burn - Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest
ACB’s titles are pretty kickass (ie. “Thus From My Lips, By Yours, My Sin is Purged”), and they sound a little like Underoath, from the one song that i heard. But more is available from them here.
June28-05

Haste the Day - When Everything Falls
This is HtD’s sophomore release guys! And as always, these guys do what they do..VERY WELL. You’d expect pure screaming from a hardcore band right? WRONG. These guys can SING, just like Demon Hunter, Underoath and Emery, just to name a few of the bands on the same label!
Wanna have a listen? Hop on over here.
July 19-05

Thousand Foot Krutch - The Art of Breaking
TFK’s 2nd CD release (Set It Off is considered an indie CD even though it was re-released). So far, it sounds good. I was kind of hesitant to listen to TFK again, ever since certain people in a certain building overplayed it like anything and overkilled it. Well, at least they’re better than some other band…

Number One Gun - Promises For The Imperfect
#1 Gun’s..2nd CD?! If you’ve heard ‘On and On’ and ‘These Things’ you’ll know why they’re worthy to be mentionned here. They are chill. Immensely chill.

(They’re signed to T&N!)
Released[?]

Acceptance - Phantoms
After hearing ‘Breathless’, you’ll see why these guys are up here. Go on now…have a listen!
There are the newer songs though, of course. And they sound great too : D
Note: These guys are one of the few Christian bands signed onto Sony Columbia, a “major” label (another band is mercyMe i believe)

Stand to Say Goodbye
These guys do it all for Jesus. But sadly…their band has become no more, supposedly.
Go listen to them here.

Grand Prize - Identity
My boys are back!!! Yep, and this time they’ve hooked up with A’postrophe Records for their debut album! Their first CD, ‘Reveal Your Love’, which I caught the full RM for on Grassrootsmusic was kickass and made me love them until now! Only problem was that they were independent at the time, so getting their CD was hard…and my friend eventually gave up.

Transistor Radio
These guys’ vocals sound a bit like Hawk Nelson and Trevor of TFK!
Interesting, go check em here.

Switchfoot - Nothing Is Sound
Nothing to say about these guys.
It’s either you like em or you hate em, i guess. And evidently some hate them because they dont understand SwitchFEET’s songs. Go check em out, before they’re overplayed and overkilled again, like TFK and RK!

Also, it has come to my attention that RK’s “selling out factor” is quite high…now, don’t get me wrong, joining a major label is GREAT and shouldn’t be looked down upon. Some of the best Christian bands are on major labels! Such as mercyMe (Sony), Blindside (Elektra), POD (Some big one)…just to name a few…
But it was brought to my attention that the video for “Be My Escape” cut out some parts of the actual song, and mutilated the song into a song for a girl. Not for GOD, but for a GIRL. Or GIRLS, if Theissen is a player. What’s up with this? As if TFK/FM Static didnt get it bad enough from me when i was informed they got drunk after a show!
Then again, you can only determine whether a band has sold out or not when they come out and say it, or if you actaully see these things yourself.
The “Be My Escape” video sucked, in my opinion.
And to have me say it sucks…takes a lot of effort.
Hurray for a real post in a long, long time.
[Edit: MV's seem to have been disabled, srry guys...even i didn't get to have fun!]
