When I came out of the Gordon Wiley Building and looked for my dad, what I found was my dad, mom and a red Chevrolet Optra LS…do you know what came into my mind next?
That’s right, “Oh shit…another crash?”. And sure enough, another crash.
This time, it wasn’t a single-car accident. To refresh everyone’s cloudy memories, last time I posted about car accidents was on March 17th, regarding the single-car collision on the on-ramp to 401 at Meadowvale, on our way to TC. This time, it was a head-on collision on a two lane (one lane on each side) street named Taunton Rd. For those who live in Durham region, you know that Taunton Rd. is currently having it’s number of lanes increased.
So what happened? The Grand-Prix which hit my dad lost it’s left wheel while driving, meaning a possible rusted ball-bearing. The Grand-Prix slammed into the driver side portion of our Camry, and resulted in the Camry being in the ditch at 45degrees. This time, my dad wasn’t at fault, AT ALL. Airbags didn’t deploy, which is good, but the car is pretty much…for lack of better words at the moment, fucked. We’re still waiting for insurance to tally up the damages and see if they’ll write it as a totalled car.
Of course, pictures for you to see (taken at the body shop) and thank God my dad walked out in one piece, with nothing more than a sprained wrist.
There’s been accidents on Taunton all day…at least one was fatal.
