RELEASE: Revision 3

I started feeling the strong urge to change up the look of the main page (Addonelam.net?) around a week or two ago. And as all major “re-design” projects begin, the main obstacle needed to be overcome is “Where do I start”?

Would I go with a very flashy (and/or Flashy, haha) design? If I did that, would it utilize AJAX, only Javascript or mainly really damn hot images? Would I learn new techniques and create my own scripts, or would I use existing scripts? Does monochrome work? What did she mean with that kiss?

Oh, I see I’m going off-topic now, with fragments of my imagination. But one night when I just laid in bed to sleep, an image flashed in my mind and I had to jot it down despite me needing to wake up at 5am on Monday (oh, this means I started on Sunday!). This image would ignite the creativity needed to start (and finish) a rabid design process. After around a week (or less) of designing, thinking, getting raped by lectures and sleeping, Addonelam.net Revision 3 has gone live! (Actually, as I’m typing this, I still haven’t over-written all my old files yet)

And yes, I present to the world the 3rd (???) design for Addonelam.net! I’m actually unsure if this is the 3rd version, because I was too lazy to check my files. About the design now…I decided to go the minimalistic route (again?)…with black and white. To spice things up, because I love doing that, I added a random hexadecimal of red (FF3333 if you wanted to know without checking my source). Because I used overflow for my content, that section had shifted to the right side of the screen, but I believe that this actually looks good/unique as well.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART

is the fact that I’ve done a **real** “About” section (minus photo) and updated the “Works” section. I’ll admit, while I was updating the “Works” section, the scripture regarding our own works and its irrelevance to salvation popped into my mind as I typed out what I had done with Sycamore. It’s ironic, actually.

I think I may be taking a shot at customizing a Gallery2 theme to unify everything (which would be a first, really) and maybe modify Sandbox (while adopting Takimata?) to also reflect the new design. Either way, please enjoy the new design, which is XHTML/CSS valid and shows up fine on IE6, FF2+, Camino, Safari…and I hope Opera/NS/IE7/FF2-, and offer up suggestions which I won’t really listen to.

By the way, more news about *our* new side-project may be released in mid-October, so also stay tuned about that!
