This morning as i was eating breakfast, I was also reading our Honda magazine (which is free for all Honda owners), and caught eye of the Civic Si Sedan. You’d think I made a typo by saying “sedan”, but no! the Civic Si is now available as a 4-door sedan! For those that don’t know, the Civic Si has always been a 2 door coupe, and is sportier than the base Civic.
For the 2008 Civic Si, we’re looking at 197hp…but fuel economy at ~24mpg (that’s around 10L/100km, I believe). You get more sport…but much less dollar-saving (compared with a price of $10k less, ~40 less HP [different red-line RPM though], and ~36mpg of the “regular” models). So as I was on my way to the station to take my bus, my dad and I discussed about the Civic Si, and I brought up how I don’t think I’d ever lay my hands on one.
Now that I think about it, my brainwashed hatred (kudos to Hybs &heart; ) is quite the prejudice. I mean, I’m being hypocritical to what I’ve been following since high school started: “If you never ask, you’ll never know”, which is pretty much also stating “If you never try, you’ll never know”. And this holds true, as if you never ask (and instead, merely contemplate), you waste time and may never know the answer in the end; if you never try something (provided it is already good) and get your own opinion. Such examples include…Campus Church. Of course, I wouldn’t apply this to drugs, lewd behavior or getting drunk, amongst other things…which I’ve already stated before.
Anyway, so this has got me thinking…before I actually rule out a car, perhaps I should make an attempt to test it out! Regardless, whatever i say right now won’t matter in a year or so…so all this I’m typing right now is wasted time, bits, bytes and energy.
GG.
