A Theory

You know, I’ve got a theory about my physical health and how I serve (or believe I am called to serve). This all ties in with the outdoor stage of Jaffray.

My knee joints are not so good — I have arthritis or some other condition which causes my joints to crack and pop into place when bent past 90 degrees (in other words, if I squat or sit below a regular chair line). When Sycamore was preparing for Project TDot2 outdoors, I had injured one of my knees while going onto the stage. This “injury” kept on going after a few weeks…so that led to some of my suspicions.

This summer, I had the opportunity to lead with several teams again for LOAH. This year, my arms and legs would not be affected…but rather my vocal chords/throat — I haven’t stopped having a sore throat since August. I mean, it gets better sometimes, but more often than usual…it’s sore. Already I’ve had a bunch of blisters in my mouth and eating/drinking/speaking is generally hard most of the time…and on top of that, my general health isn’t too hot.

Now, I know its one thing to be unhealthy, and another to shift the cause to “punishment” from Above…but to me it somehow feels like a sign of some sort. Perhaps the sign I am supposed to receive is that I am not to serve again with LOAH. Perhaps its a sign that my pride, though however large or small, may still get in the way. Perhaps its a sign that I may begin to have other reasons for serving in musical ministry.

Regardless, its always a sign for me to re-evaluate my course in life and return to the Source. Whenever you are lost, you can be found once again at the Source, for from the Source comes all things.
