Before everyone spams me on MSN again with “What the eff is wrong with your blog!?”, let me remind you that today is CSS Naked Day, which celebrates the work and efforts of WP theme designers, as well as web-standards.
So it looks very plain, and as some say, “FUGLY”, but in essence, it still allows readers who cannot render CSS to access the page! Let’s break it down, we’ve got my blog-header, followed by a brief list of navigation links to the pages on my blog. After that, we have my blog posts, displaying at 4 maximum, with available navigation to previous posts. Below all of this is a full tree of all my categories and archives by months, as well as more navigation and external links +meta. If, for some reason (perhaps having a crappy Internet connection like mine), the stylesheet fails to load, you would see that — the barebones “directory” of my blog.
What about functionality? Nothing appears to be broken! So the job has been done well (thanks plaintxt.org for Sandbox…minimalism is BLISS)!
Now, regarding the comic…I never thought I’d have to take a comic down and explain it. On Monday, we were eating lunch in the caf and for some reason, somehow, the topic of animal penal sizes came up. Can you say awkward? — it was incredibly awkward. Probably most awkward was the fact that a girl was spearheading (no pun intended) the conversation.
At the time, we all thought that the idea of having “Jasmine”, whose real name has been removed for her sake of anonymity, teach a biology class focused on the animal sizes was funny. We also found it funny that a particular animal’s proportions were quite different, and unexpected — and we compared this to the human.
But of course, somewhere in these bits and bytes of information, the joke had been lost. Some people didn’t see the humour in the humours of animals, and actually had pretty negative feedback toward this topic. This is exactly why I put warnings in bold whenever strong language, massively violent situations or sexually-oriented-humour, such as this comic, is present — it gives you the choice of whether you want to read it or not. I also try to put a description of what the comic will be about before you click and view the comic, as an extra layer of protection for your oh-so-virgin-eyes.
Of course, some content, material and topics should never be discussed or joked about. From what I’ve seen, this topic is one of them. You’ve got to admit, it was a pretty cute thumbnail though. Of course, cute thumbnails don’t compensate too much, and I completely forgot and neglected the fact that I had a job application which linked to my site (including blogONE and all my media). Therefore, I have decided to remove the comic until I either get an interview to demonstrate my work, or a rejection call.
The fact that I’ve somewhat censored the drawings beforehand (and now my own material by temporarily removing content) is proof enough that opinions do [somewhat] matter to me at times.

I wouldn’t have been able to tell since I use a CSS reader anyway. But hey, nice page. Looks spiffy. Now bring back the sexmic.

Carl: Just wait until the CSS comes back on…we’ll see how spiffy the page gets (or doesn’t get). The comic should be back up by next Wednesday, be on the look-out for it!
