The BIGHOPE of Pay Back and Proof
2 Thes. 1:1-10
2 Thes. 1:1-10
Today’s cover is of If by House of Heroes, which is on the same label as Relient K (ie. Goatee Records). I haven’t listened to them at all prior to a week or two ago, like all the new bands I’ve neglected to sample, but this was one of the first songs I’ve heard from them after some persuasion from a friend. Actually, here’s the actual video I watched/listened to (link), which isn’t as acoustic as I would have thought.
Weekend22 is in effect! Check out all the other Weekend22 posts through the tag!
Lyrics:
I could be in love if you wore that dress every day
With your hair just so and your eyes of grey
You’d make a beautiful bird on a line
A beautiful bride of Frankenstein
A beautiful drop of iodine
If you were mine, if you were mine, if you were mineI could be in love if the sun came out every day
Set the sky on fire and the city grey
I’d be there at the drop of a dime
If you were mine, if you were mine, if you were mineIf you were mine I’d tear the altar down of all that I’d lost to romance
If you were mine I’d risk my dignity if only to give love a chance
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mineAnd I could be in love if the sirens sang every day
You draw me closer to destiny
Give us this moment to shine
Me and my bride of Frankenstein
A beautiful bird on a line
If you were mine, if you were mine, if you were mine
Would you be mine? Would you be mine?If you were mine I’d tear the altar down of all that I’d lost to romance
If you were mine I’d risk my dignity if only to give love a chance
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mineOhh, if you were mine.
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mineIf you were mine I’d tear the altar down of all that I’d lost to romance
If you were mine I’d risk my dignity if only to give love a chance
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mineIf you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine
If you were mine, I’d have the world
I’d have the world if you were mine.
Perhaps there are a few more recordings that can surface in anticipation of Weekend22? Like this one, which is a cover of Starfield’s Something To Say which is from their latest album The Saving One. I have still yet to perfect myself playing the keys and singing, mainly because I don’t have a telescopic boom mic stand…so I have to deal with the ghettoness and awkward quality for now.
Lyrics:
I’ve got something to say
It’s been one of those days
When I’m finding it hard to believe in You
I’ve got something to say
I’ve forgotten how to pray
And I’m finding it hard to believe the truth
I’ve got something to say
Right now it feels like You are slipping away
Like I am drowning in a crisis of faith
Like I’m alone
I’ve got something to say
What was black and white is grey
And I’m finding it hard to believe in You
And faith might mean there won’t be answers
And hope might mean enduring through the night
But help me not forget in darkness
The things that I believed in light
I’ve got something to say
Right now it feels like You are slipping away
Like I am drowning in a crisis of faith
Like I was found, but now I’m lost in the fray
