1/8/2012 Sunday

It has been a while since I’ve typed up my notes; perhaps part of my dry season was avoiding revisiting and sharing the notes that I had taken. Part of the reason was just not caring any longer… But with a new year comes a new chance at correcting the course. I wonder if sharing my notes has any impact on my own walk, or is it just an idle task which benefits nobody and only puffs up?

My 2012 Life Priority Checklist

Matthew 3,4

  • if you’re in a desert or the wilderness, perhaps you will meet with God soon, for He brings one to deserts and wilderness to meet with
  • Do you have the following 6 checklist items completed?
    1. I have turned fully from the kingdom of man to the kingdom of heaven (Matt 3:2, Matt 4:12)
      • changing from old to new
      • repentance vs “repentance”; ALL relationships in life are based on clearness and truth
        • you must acknowledge the sin in your life, in order to turn from the kingdom of man to the kingdom of God!
    2. I have been baptized (Matt 3:13-15)
      • the sign of new creation reality; a funeral service for your sin life (Rom 6:2-4)
      • after Jesus was baptized, the Spirit immediately led him to the desert
        • don’t get caught living high to high; don’t base your faith in God and His power only on the highs
        • God wants to take you to places of REAL so ou can grow in dependency on God
    3. I am a seeker of life rather than a materialist (Matt 4:4)
      • is your appetite mostly spiritual?
      • material is meant to help serve the spiritual
        • chasing the material will take you away from God because of the time robbed and siphoned from the spiritual
          • the material will never be enough
    4. I am settled in my trust in the Lord and am not always testing God to make him prove himself real to me (Matt 4:7)
      • Satan will place in tough times such that he might derail you to thinking God is insufficient/unable/out of control
        • we need unshakeable faith in the quiet, silent, perplexing times!
      • faith is not to be confused with fate & presumption
        • Example: the 3 followers in the furnace vs Neb
    5. I am increasingly freed from addiction to personal glory (Matt 4:10)
      • devil can take what you desire most from your ministry to make you ineffective
        • we need liberation from the slavery of self-consciousness!
      • we were freed to serve God rather than worry about what we sound like/look like/are perceived like
    6. I am presently working with Christ on a mission of rescue (Matt 4:19)
      • is there obvious, tangible evidence of mission work in your life?
