February 15, 2010 – 11:17 pm This is the 10th batch of Comical Conversations! Hurray!!!
I C Wut U Did Thar
As I sit in the parked car, 2 girls go up to their car in front of me and notice their parking ticket.
Girl 1: OH NO! A ticket!
Girl 2: What!!!! COME ON!!!!
1: I think you can fight this.
2: I’m going to fight this!!!
My friend comes back…
Ad: The car in front of us got a ticket…and the girls were all emo and angry and said they were going to fight it.
Jon: Um…they ARE parked in the handicap zone. Good luck…
The Best Bands
While in the Old Spaghetti Factory
Jon: So I guess you listen and play a lot of music eh?
Ad: Yeah…I guess so. I probably don’t listen to as many bands as I should. I should expand my horizon and stuff y’know?
J: Hrmm, probably. But there’s only one band that’s good enough for me y’know?
A: Oh yeah??
J: The Radio Band. Cause I listen to the radio.
A: You mean the Radio Frequency Band.
J: Yes, exactly. But I’m not that nerdy to say that… and only us nerds would understand I meant that
February 11, 2010 – 9:59 pm The second rough keyboard and vocals recording of the night is a cover of one of my favourite songs evar. Its “The Ponytail Parades” by Emery (acoustic piano version from The Question Deluxe Edition). And yes, I *did* use this song for my Silent Film collection of Gogo.
My bastardization in usual Adwin Lam-bastardization mode included:
- running out of air
- singing off key
- playing the wrong notes
- being boring by playing slower…
- spacey recording due to horrible mic positioning
With all this said, enjoy! I really look forward to making a MUCH improved version of this. Justice must be done for Emery.

February 11, 2010 – 9:48 pm Well, here we are. The first keyboard and vocals recording ever. I can’t read sheet music, so I learned this by ear and some chords. A really horrid “first try”, which is why I appropriately named it “rough”; just about everything that can go wrong does:
- spacey recording due to bad mic positioning
- running out of air and going off key
- playing the wrong chords and notes as only a newbie keyboard player would
- telephone going off (actually, it came in at a GOOD moment and sounded…good?)
A better version is definitely in the works…but this was just something for laughs and cringing. I need some telescopic boom mic stands, as the current set-up is really inflexible for mic positioning capturing the best sounds.
This song is called “Boston” by Augustana. This is my bastardized-Adwin Lam style recording. Enjoy!

By the way, don’t bother with anything else by Augustana…they’re pretty damn emo-pop and whiny.
