Anberlin is probably one of my favourite bands and has been so influential in the musical style I’ve embarked upon, as well as the shaping of some aspects of my faith.

Anberlin is one of my absolute favourite bands, for a lot of reasons. Stephen Christian sporting emo long hair and black leather trying to be sexy with a mic stand is not one of them, but it adds to their charm (they were REALLY nervous that night!). Their album “Cities” is one which I’ve listened on repeat many, many, many times, and it still holds a special place in my heart. Every. Single. Track.
I don’t think I’ll ever do justice to the band’s hard work, perseverance and vision…but I’d still like to do a collection of covers revolving around them. And sure enough, my version and vision of a cover usually results in an acoustic endeavour [often with mixed results].
It sounds like I’m going to have to try a little harder this time around and really put my best efforts forward.
I’ve finally narrowed the selection down to 20 songs I really like (and no, I’m not doing the entire “Cities” album; I was tempted!). Perhaps the best approach would be to record and release 5 at a time?
